Cherokee County, NC businesses favor Cash-4-Trash Program

By Gary Chamberlain

The North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition is working with Cherokee County, NC businesses that are willing to pledge $100 to individuals and groups that completely fill 10 (33) gallon bags with litter that is located in Cherokee County, NC.

Participants, the Cash-4-Trash Program is a no-host, at-your-own-risk, self-managed opportunity so don’t blame someone else if you get hurt. Funding is limited, so confirm that there is funding with the North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition before you proceed. Participants are required to email answers to the six questions below and send responses for the additional five requirements to Gary Chamberlain, North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition, FolksvilleUSA@gmail.com, (928) 202-1186 (AZ cell) so we can put together a story on your efforts and send it to several media organizations. Six Required Questions: 1) What are you doing? 2) Why you are doing it? 3) Who benefits from your efforts? 4) Why do you want others to do what you are doing? 5) Where did you picked up litter (name the locations and number of bags at each location)? 6) What are the most common items you found? Additional Five Requirements: 1) Send photos showing the contents of the litter bags. 2) Send at least one photo that identifies the people in the photo from left to right. 3) Write a thank you letter to the business donating the funding and send us a copy. 4) The North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition will notify the NCDOT for bag pick up. 5) When possible, we will be there to take a photo of the reward being presented to you so keep us posted.

The Cash-4-Trash Program will benefit the image and economy of Cherokee County by teaching our youth about marketing, sales, and providing a service, and the value of a dollar earned. We hope that our Cherokee County businesses will continue to support this “Cash-4-Trash” effort and other counties will “Copy Cat” this effort. If you have any questions about how to participate in the Cash-4-Trash Program contact the North Carolina Litter-Free Coalition before proceeding.
