ON LOCATION: MEMPHIS now accepting submissions for OL:M Film Market

MEMPHIS, TENN. (PRWEB) MAY 05, 2020 - On Location: MEMPHIS (OL:M) is now accepting submissions for the OL:M Film Market, which is slated for September 4, 2021. The OL:M Film Market is a film ecosystem built for filmmakers to generate revenue and find distribution.

Keeping in line with On Location: MEMPHIS’ vision to teach through real life application, the OL:M Film Market will provide education to filmmakers in the areas of music licensing and distribution. This festival provides something of value for the submission fee – a music synch license. Filmmakers can browse On Location: MEMPHIS’ subsidiary MemphisMusicBanq.com (MMB) and either purchase a synch license to use in their current project, or pre-paid music rights for future projects. The music license or pre-paid music rights receipt, film, and other submission documents, are all that’s required to submit. OL:M Film Market is the only festival cleared to accept the web license. MMB Music licenses are royalty free, perpetual and project specific.

“Memphis music is created for all genres and is the perfect resource for the indie film community,” said MMB Creative Liaison, Christie Taylor. “The Memphis Music Banq is where you can find quality content, that’s legally sound and reasonable priced.”

Once accepted to the market, the filmmaker will be given a number of tickets to their screening that they may sell and keep 100% of the profits. Income generated from individual screening tickets, sold by the market, will be given to the filmmaker. The MMB Publisher, whose music is licensed for a project, will assist the filmmaker in marketing the screening.

All feature length films accepted in the market will be submitted to Indie Rights for consideration. Indie Rights is a Global Distributor with direct deals with Amazon, Google Play, TubiTV and several other VOD channels. In addition, representatives from kweli TV, (streaming platform for African Diaspora films and shorts), and Murphy Entertainment Studios (Theatrical Distributor) are confirmed to attend. The festival expect to add others to the lineup.

“Not having proper music licenses for film projects can cost the filmmaker time, money and missed opportunities,” said OL:M Executive Director, Angela D. Green, Esq. “Our focus is helping the filmmaker monetize their film project, whether it’s a short or feature length.”
