East Fannin Elementary School student, Sydney Ford, is the 2019-2020 District School Bus Safety Poster Winner for grades 3rd-5th.
This year's theme was “Red Light Means Stop!”.
According to Denver Foster, Director of Transportation (Fannin County School System) “The contest is held nationally by the National Association Of Pupil Transportation. Each school district is encouraged to participate. All of our elementary schools submitted posters for judging. The two winners will be submitted to the State of Georgia Department of Education, where all the local district winners will be judged and the state winner will be forwarded on to the NAPT for judging as the national winner. The State Of Georgia has had a national winner. It was in 2018 and the child was from East Lake Elementary in McDonough GA.”
Sydney's poster will now be presented in the State Capitol to be judged in the next level of competition.
