Walgreens Offers Veterans Free Flu Shots

Vaccination

Walgreens is working with the VA to provide NO-COST quadrivalent flu shots to Veterans enrolled in the VA health care system. Starting immediately and going through March 31, 2020 Veterans have the option of getting their flu shot at any of 9,600 Walgreens nationwide, in addition to their local VA health care facilities.

It's so easy! No appointment is needed! When you visit your local Walgreens simply tell the pharmacist you would like a flu shot and you do receive care at a VA facility. Show your Veterans Health Identification Card and another form of photo ID. Prior to receiving the flu shot, patients are asked to complete a vaccine consent form.

Walgreens now has the capability to electronically send your vaccination information to the VA. Your immunization record will be updated in your VA electronic health record!

This partnership with Walgreens is part of VA's eHealth Exchange project. In an effort to ensure Veterans receive their no cost flu shot without having to schedule an appointment at a VA health care facility.

If you prefer, you can still receive your flu shot at your local VA facility during any scheduled VA appointment or if your VA has a walk-in flu station.
